After graduating at the St Petersburg State Conservatory, Elena Nebera joined the Graz Opera Studio in Austria and took master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Mirella Freni and Diego Crovetti. From 1995 to 1997 she joined the Ensemble of the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.


In 2000, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride with Thomas Hampson, Susan Graham and Paul Groves under the baton of Ivor Bolton.
Since 2001 she performsed in several opera houses in Germany such as Dortmund, Nürnberg, Bonn, Kassel and Dusseldorf singing Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Tatjana in Eugene Onegin, Jenufa, Luisa in Luisa Miller, Maria Stuarda, Leonore in La Forza del Destino, Cio-Cio-San, Abigaille, Turandot and Evain in Wagner's Der Meistersinger.


In 2007 she sang Aida at the Festival in Eutin, Germany, and made her successful debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and the Megaron Theatre in Athens in Arnold Schönberg's,Die Erwartung. she sang Lisa in Pique Dame at the Mariinsky Theatre with Valery Gergiev and returned to Dortmund for Sieglinde in Wagner's Walküre .

 

In 2008 she performed Chrysothemis in Strauss's Elektra and Senta in Wagner's Fliegende Holländer at the Festivalin Baden-Baden again with Valery Gergiev. She returned to La Fenice in Venice singing Chrysothemis in a production conducted by Eliahu Inbal, directed by Klaus Michael Grüber, and again at the Baltic Sea Festival 2008 in Stockholm. She was a cover for Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at the Palau de les arts in Valencia under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel, Katerina Ivanovna in Alexander Semolkov's new opera The Brothers Karamasov in Rotterdam and the Barbican Hall London and at the Mariinsky, Lisa in Pique Dame at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Latvian National Opera, Riga and Grand Theatre du Luxembourg, Turandot in Zagreb.
