Giulia Diomede
Mezzo-Soprano
Born in Trani (Italy), Giulia graduated in acting from the Accademia d'Arte del Dramma Antico in Syracuse and graduated in both classical literature and performing arts at the University of Bari. After graduating in singing at the 'Tomadini" Conservatory in Udine, she attended the opera studio at the Teatro Coccia in Novara and the "Rodolfo Celletti" Belcanto Academy.
She was the lead singer in a series of world premieres: "Ami e Tami" by Màtti Kovler and "Cassandra, in te dormiva un sogno" by Marco Podda at the Teatro Coccia in Novara, "Splende muta la luna" by Rossella Spinosa and "Gli uncini del diavolo" by Carla Magnan & Carla Rebora in Cividale del Friuli.
In 2023, she debuted the role of Azucena in "Il Trovatore" directed by Antonello Allemandi at the Coccia Theatre in Novara. The Corriere di Novara wrote: According to the applause, the winner was mezzo-soprano Giulia Diomede, a well-deserved first place. She sings Azucena, the desperate, infanticidal Zingara. "Stride la vampa" stirs the guts and arrives direct like a wave of heat, immediately returned in spontaneous open-stage applause.
Recent engagements include Azucena in "Il Trovatore" at the Taranto Opera Festival and Polina & governess in "Pique Dame" by P. I. Tchaikovsky at the Ivan Zajc Rijeka Theatre (Croatia).
